Hi, I’m Andy.
This page contains promotional content.
How do you usually buy your tickets?
For transportation like the Shinkansen or airplanes, it's usually online or at a ticket counter.
For local trains, it's typically with an IC card.
Concerts? Back in the day, we used Ticket Pia.
Golf? Domestic bookings are done online, but for overseas...?
International flights are usually booked online or through travel agencies.
But what about trains or bullet trains abroad...?
Or public transportation in foreign countries...?
Or tickets to museums or concerts overseas...?
As you can see, there are still many ticket types and purchase methods that aren't so obvious.
Of course, buying tickets at the local counter is the most straightforward option—but while that's fine in Japan, doing the same overseas often requires you to speak the local language, which can make the process a bit more intimidating.
While I was researching eSIM apps for my travels, I stumbled across a site called KKday. To my surprise, KKday offers not only eSIMs, but also a wide variety of tickets you can purchase online.
I decided to give it a try—
and I’d like to share my experience with you!
On KKday, you can purchase a wide variety of tickets online — whether it’s for transportation, theme parks, or other attractions, both in Japan and abroad.
To test it out, I bought a zoo ticket for a domestic trip and actually used it in person.
The user interface is very well-designed — it’s clear, intuitive, and easy to use.
When I compared the prices, I found that the ticket price for Kobe Animal Kingdom was the same on KKday as it was at the gate.
✅ Before You Start: Account Setup
You’ll need to register some basic information before making a purchase.
Go to "Account Settings" at the top right of your My Page.
You’ll be asked to enter:
-
Your name
-
Phone number
-
Email address
-
Credit card information for payment
🎟️ From Ticket Purchase to Entry
-
Search for "Kobe Animal Kingdom" in the app.
-
Select your ticket and complete the purchase using your registered credit card.
-
After payment, a QR code will be issued as your online ticket.
-
At the entrance, simply show the QR code to the staff — they’ll scan it, and you’re in!
It’s very similar to using a QR code for subway entry.
💡 Why It’s So Convenient
-
No need to line up at ticket counters
-
When abroad, you can book tickets in Japanese, even if you don’t speak the local language
-
You also earn points, which can give you small discounts on future purchases
🌍 Countries & Types of Tickets Available
Since KKday’s parent company is based in Taiwan, the platform offers access to a wide range of travel services in Asia and the Middle East — including many destinations that may not be familiar or easy to navigate for travelers.
For example, booking tickets in Saudi Arabia can be quite challenging if you don’t speak Arabic, so having access to an app like KKday is incredibly helpful.
In places like Laos, you might not even be sure if English will be understood — again, this is where the app becomes a lifesaver.
In addition, KKday also allows you to book hard-to-access tickets like ferries, cruises, and railway passes — all online, in advance.
I definitely plan to keep using KKday in the future.
Overall, I found it quite convenient and easy to use.
